Teacher Qualifications*
Must be at least 21 years old
Must have a high school diploma
Preferred Associates, CDA, or BA/BS, but a minimum of sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six.
Good personal hygiene
Emotional maturity when working with children
Maintain required state regulatory training hours (15 hours a year)
CPR Certification or can obtain within 30 days of employment
Food Handlers Certification or can obtain before first day of employment
Must be able to pass background check
Physical and mental health that do not interfere with child care responsibilities.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and frequently 10-25 pounds and/or up to 10 pounds constantly. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, carry children, sit without back support for 15-20 minutes at a time.
Follow and maintain DCFS and company standards
Skills to help children meet their developmental and emotional needs
Attend and actively participate in all required meetings and trainings, including supervisory trainings
