    Pay Range: $28–$35/hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities may be available.

    Overview of the Position

    We are hiring a Lead Rebuild Technician who is highly skilled, dependable, and ready to run jobs independently. This position requires advanced carpentry and finishing abilities, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision. You will oversee job sites, direct junior technicians, coordinate with subcontractors, and serve as the primary contact for customers. You will report directly to the Owner and play a key role in delivering high-quality rebuild projects on time and within budget.

    Position Summary/Purpose

    Lead residential and commercial rebuild projects after mitigation is complete (once water, mold, or fire damage has already been remediated). Manage job sites, direct team members, and ensure work is completed to code, on schedule, and at the highest quality. Provide hands-on skilled labor while also serving as a mentor and leader on site.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Take ownership of reconstruction projects from start to finish according to scope of work.

    Supervise junior rebuild technicians and subcontractors, providing direction and quality checks.

    Perform skilled carpentry and finishing work including framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, windows, doors, and trim installation.

    Oversee demolition, ensuring safety and structural integrity are maintained.

    Apply finishes such as painting, tile work, and other final touches.

    Maintain clear communication with customers, the Owner, and team members.

    Track progress, report issues, and suggest practical solutions to challenges.

    Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and organized at all times.

    Uphold company standards of professionalism and customer service.

    Additional Duties and Responsibilities

    Train and mentor junior rebuild technicians.

    Assist with estimating by providing accurate field measurements and material needs.

    Help protect customer property using appropriate coverings and materials.

    Ensure company tools and vehicles are maintained in good condition.

    Occasionally assist mitigation team if needed for demolition or prep.

    Bonus Points

    Leadership or crew management experience

    Familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating software

    Bilingual in Spanish/English

    Strong knowledge of Contra Costa County building codes and practices

    Long-term interest in advancing into supervisory or management roles

    Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Education and Experience

    High school diploma or equivalent required

    4+ years of construction, carpentry, or restoration experience

    Tools and Technical Skills

    Proficient with hand and power tools, materials, and jobsite safety

    Ability to read scopes of work, drawings, and blueprints

    Comfortable leading crews and coordinating subcontractors

    Drywall, mud, and texture experience is required

    Licenses and Certificates

    Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

    Must pass background and drug screening

    Physical Demands

    This position includes regular lifting, kneeling, bending, climbing ladders, and working in tight or elevated spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.

    Working Conditions

    Most work is performed on job sites in Concord and throughout Contra Costa County. Sites may be in various stages of restoration, including those with water or fire damage, limited heating/cooling, or visible mold. Occasional work outside of the county may be required.
