    • $151,900 – $195,300

    Position Summary

    This senior-level Lead Substation Engineer role is responsible for overseeing complex substation engineering and EPC projects while leading and mentoring a high-performing engineering team. The position includes managing project scope, schedules, budgets, client relationships, and engineering deliverables while supporting the design and development of substation layouts, grounding systems, conduit plans, and structural drawings. Ideal candidates bring extensive substation engineering experience, strong leadership capabilities, and proficiency with design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.

    Job Function

    • Develop project plans and scopes of work for complex substation engineering and EPC projects
    • Manage project execution, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources
    • Lead and supervise engineering teams, including mentoring and performance management
    • Coordinate with clients, vendors, consultants, and contractors to support successful project delivery
    • Prepare and review preliminary designs, proposals, studies, estimates, and material lists
    • Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards and project requirements
    • Develop and modify substation layout, grounding, conduit, and foundation drawings
    • Track project progress, resolve obstacles, and support client satisfaction and growth opportunities

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • 10+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience
    • A combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu of stated requirements

    Qualifications

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in additional states
    • Strong understanding of MicroStation and AutoCAD design software
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows-based software
    • Ability to learn and utilize new design software programs effectively
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work products
