    Position Summary

    The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a Christ-centered, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. Using the Abeka curriculum, the Lead Teacher will plan and implement daily lessons that promote academic readiness, spiritual growth, emotional development, and social skills, in alignment with the mission and values of the Wonder Kids Academy.

    Responsibilities

    Develop and implement weekly lesson plans using the Abeka curriculum.

    Integrate biblical principles and Christian character education into all classroom activities.

    Create a warm, structured, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.

    Assess and monitor each child’s progress and provide feedback to parents and the school administration.

    Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom space.

    Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, conferences, and daily interactions.

    Supervise and guide the Assistant Teacher in classroom activities and responsibilities.

    Maintain accurate attendance and progress records.

    Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

    Support the overall mission, vision, and goals of the Wonder Kids Academy.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development from an accredited college or university (BS, BA), or related field (preferred).

    Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council of Professional Recognition

    Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education

    Technical College Diploma (TCD) in Early Childhood Education

    Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development,or a related field (AA, AAS, AAT)

    Minimum of two years’ experience teaching in a preschool or early childhood setting.

    Demonstrated faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education.

    Knowledge of the Abeka curriculum is preferred.

    Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

    Must successfully pass background check from Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning

    Must complete 10 Hour Health and Safety Training

    CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
