    This position is for a lead teacher who loves teaching and also wants to mentor, support, onboard new or less experienced faculty members to learn, grow and thrive. A hybrid-administrative position which is perfect for someone who wants to continue teaching while also helping other teachers and the School. As a full-time lead teacher you will be given the opportunity to support the onboarding and training of new faculty. In this position, the Lead Teacher - Mentor will support teachers in their development of routines and classroom management. You will participate in teacher observations and collaborate with the leadership team. In this position, you may learn other administrative functions.

    1. Onboarding New Teachers

    Orientation: Introduce new teachers to the school culture, values, and policies.

    Training: Provide initial training on curriculum, teaching methods, and classroom tools/resources.

    Mentorship: Help teachers settle and grow in their role.

    1. Supporting Classroom Routines

    Routine Implementation: Help teachers set up classroom routines and schedules.

    Consistency: Ensure that routines are consistently followed for smooth classroom management.

    Adjustments: Offer advice on adjusting routines to better meet student needs.

    1. Classroom Management

    Behavior Management: Assist teachers with strategies to handle classroom behavior effectively.

    Conflict Resolution: Provide support on resolving conflicts between students and fostering positive behavior.

    Teaching Strategies: Advise teachers on best practices for maintaining student engagement and discipline.

    1. Quality Assurance (QA)

    Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to teachers on their teaching techniques, student engagement, and classroom management.

    Continuous Improvement: Suggest areas for professional development or improvements in teaching practices.

    1. Offering Mentorship

    Guidance: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to both new and seasoned teachers.

    Professional Development: Encourage teachers to pursue growth opportunities, whether through workshops, peer feedback, or other resources.

    Reflection: Foster a culture of self-reflection and professional growth among the teaching staff.

    1. Observing and Supporting Teachers

    Classroom Observations: Conduct regular observations of teachers in action to offer personalized feedback and suggestions.

    Supportive Environment: Create a supportive atmosphere where teachers feel comfortable asking for help and collaborating with peers.

    Collaborative Solutions: Work with teachers to address challenges they face and brainstorm solutions together.

    1. Reporting and Collaborating with the Director

    Regular Updates: Provide the Director with regular reports on teacher progress, classroom dynamics, and any challenges that arise.

    Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the Director to align the classroom program with broader school or organizational goals.

    Feedback Loop: Share feedback from teachers, students, and observations with the Director to help shape policies and practices that affect the school.

    Problem Solving: Collaborate with the Director to address any significant issues or challenges that arise in the classroom or with teachers.

    1. Building Relationships for In-Classroom Support

    Teacher Relationships: Develop strong, trusting relationships with teachers to foster a supportive atmosphere where they feel comfortable asking for help or sharing concerns.

    Student Relationships: Cultivate positive relationships with students to support a classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and engagement.

    Peer Mentorship: Foster a collaborative network among teachers, where they can learn from and support each other, and encourage peer observations and feedback.

    Parental Communication: Collaborate with teachers to help maintain strong relationships with parents, ensuring open and constructive communication regarding student progress and classroom behavior.

    Building Trust and Rapport: Focus on creating an environment of trust and mutual respect where teachers feel empowered to develop and implement their own teaching strategies.
