About the Role:

Sunflower Child Care Academy LLC in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners in a nurturing, supportive environment where your creativity and care truly shine.

Responsibilities:

Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curricula that support early childhood development

Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment for all children

Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides

Monitor and document children's developmental progress and communicate updates to families

Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and guardians

Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing regulations and childcare standards

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred

Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and early childhood frameworks

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Current Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Clearance (or ability to obtain)

Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for working with young children
