Lead Teacher / Prepper Teacher (2-Year-Old Classroom)

The Learning Experience – Sterling, VA Pay: $17–$21 per hour (based on experience) Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:30pm

About the Role

The Learning Experience – Sterling is hiring a passionate and experienced Lead Preppers (2s) Teacher to lead one of our most exciting classrooms! Our Preppers program (2-year-olds) focuses on independence, language development, routines, and social-emotional growth in a fun, play-based daycare and preschool environment.

This is a leadership role for someone who loves toddlers, enjoys running their own classroom, and wants to grow in early childhood education.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage a 2-year-old (Preppers) classroom

Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

Implement play-based curriculum and daily learning activities

Support language development, social skills, routines, and independence

Communicate daily with families about progress and milestones

Supervise and support assistant teachers

Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety

Follow all Virginia childcare licensing and health regulations

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Previous childcare experience is required

Experience leading or working in a toddler or preschool classroom strongly preferred

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)

CPR/First Aid preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Must meet all Virginia childcare licensing requirements

Reliable, energetic, and confident leading a classroom
