    Position Summary

    The Toddler / Young Toddler Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages approximately 12 months to 3 years. This role focuses on fostering early learning, social-emotional development, and independence while maintaining a structured and engaging classroom aligned with Wonder Kids Academy’s Christian values and educational standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Child Care & Supervision

    · Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times

    · Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios in accordance with Georgia childcare regulations

    · Actively supervise children during all activities (indoor and outdoor)

    · Assist with daily routines including feeding, diapering, and nap time

    Curriculum & Instruction

    · Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development

    · Incorporate hands-on learning, play-based activities, and sensory experiences

    · Introduce early language, motor skills, and basic concepts through structured and unstructured play

    · Integrate Christian values, prayers, and simple Bible-based teachings into daily activities

    Classroom Management

    · Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment

    · Use positive guidance and redirection techniques to manage behavior

    · Support children in developing self-help skills and independence

    · Ensure classroom materials are safe, sanitized, and age-appropriate

    Communication

    · Maintain open and professional communication with parents/guardians

    · Provide daily updates on each child’s progress, behavior, meals, and activities

    · Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns according to academy policy

    · Participate in parent conferences and staff meetings as required

    Health & Safety

    · Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in compliance with Bright from the Start (Georgia DECAL) regulations

    · Maintain proper hygiene practices including handwashing and diapering procedures

    · Ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of toys and classroom surfaces

    Qualifications

    · High School Diploma or GED required (CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred)

    · Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred

    · Knowledge of child development and early childhood best practices

    · Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in active play

    · Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    · Must pass background check and meet Georgia childcare licensing requirements
