About Us
PuroClean of South Chesapeake is a growing, family-owned restoration company serving the Hampton Roads community. We provide professional services for water damage, mold remediation, fire and smoke restoration, and biohazard cleanup.
We are looking for a dependable Lead Technician who can take ownership of projects, lead a crew, and deliver high-quality work from initial assessment through final documentation. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in leadership, professionalism, and doing difficult work the right way.
Key Responsibilities
Job Leadership
Lead crews on mitigation and restoration projects
Set up containment, drying systems, and equipment according to IICRC standards
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards
Inspection & Mitigation
Perform job assessments and develop mitigation plans
Execute water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, demolition, and cleaning
Perform fire/smoke cleanup and deodorization
Handle biohazard and trauma cleanup when required, following proper safety and regulatory protocols
Monitor moisture levels and adjust drying strategies as needed
Documentation & Software
Complete detailed job documentation, photos, moisture logs, and equipment tracking
Use restoration management software such as DASH, MICA, Mitigate, or similar platforms
Communicate job progress with office staff, clients, and insurance partners
Customer Service
Professionally guide customers through stressful situations
Represent the company with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication
Required Qualifications
Certifications
IICRC WRT and ASD required
AMRT preferred
Experience
Minimum 2+ years in water mitigation/restoration
Experience leading crews or running jobs independently
Technical Skills
Experience with restoration software (DASH, MICA, Mitigate, or similar)
Working knowledge of IICRC S500/S520 standards
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding work
Comfortable working in crawlspaces, attics, confined spaces, and challenging environments
Willing and able to perform sewage, biohazard, and other difficult cleanup tasks
Strict PPE compliance required at all times

Our work is physical and hands-on. You may work in crawlspaces, attics, hot or cold environments, and properties affected by water damage, mold, sewage, fire, or biohazard situations. Some days are long, and emergency work may be required.
