Position Summary The Lead Water Technician is responsible for leading water mitigation projects from initial emergency response through completion. This role oversees mitigation crews, performs advanced water extraction and structural drying services, ensures adherence to industry standards, and delivers exceptional customer service during times of property loss. The Lead Water Technician serves as a field leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Paul Davis and IICRC standards.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to emergency water loss situations and perform mitigation services.
Lead and supervise water mitigation technicians on residential and commercial projects.
Conduct moisture inspections, document affected areas, and develop drying plans.
Perform water extraction, demolition, structural drying, and contents protection.
Set up, monitor, and adjust drying equipment based on moisture readings and project requirements.
Complete daily job documentation, moisture logs, photos, and reports using company software.
Communicate project progress with customers, insurance representatives, and management.
Ensure all work is performed according to IICRC standards, company procedures, and safety regulations.
Train and mentor technicians on proper mitigation techniques, equipment usage, and company expectations.
Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and inventory.
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of water mitigation or restoration experience preferred.
Previous leadership or crew lead experience preferred.
IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification preferred.
Additional certifications such as ASD, AMRT, or FSRT are a plus.
Strong understanding of moisture mapping, psychrometry, and structural drying principles.
Ability to read and interpret moisture readings and drying reports.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and confined spaces.
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
