Core Competencies – Fitter Welder
- Stick welding proficiency
- Flux-core welding experience
- Pipe welding experience
- Ability to take a set of prints and make it happen
Key Responsibilities - Fitter Welder:
- Reading and interpret blueprints or digital models.
- Move steel with a forklift and overhead crane.
- Cut material to size using a band saw, cutting torch or grinder.
- Layout parts and prep material for welding.
- Setup machines and weld carbon and stainless steels with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes.
- Weld in all positions
- Pass various types of visual and nondestructive inspections on completed work
- Follow safety regulations and PPE requirements
- Maintain a neat and clean work area
- Must supply welding hood and hand tools
- Work alone or as a team
- Continuous learning of products, applications, technology, market conditions and competitive advantages.
Skills & Qualifications – Fitter Welder
- High school diploma or GED
- Desire and ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing field
- Ability to work overtime on short notice
- High level communication and organization skills, as well as a positive attitude towards customer service
- Solid basic computer knowledge
- Works well independently or with a team
- Ability to manually lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment and materials
- Ability to work under little supervision
- Customer-first attitude
- Ability to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions
- Adaptable and comfortable with changing environments and protocols, understanding other duties might be required
- Degree from a Technical or Vocational school in pipe and structural welding
- Previous experience in industrial construction or maintenance
