    Core Competencies – Fitter Welder

    • Stick welding proficiency
    • Flux-core welding experience
    • Pipe welding experience
    • Ability to take a set of prints and make it happen

    Key Responsibilities - Fitter Welder:

    • Reading and interpret blueprints or digital models.
    • Move steel with a forklift and overhead crane.
    • Cut material to size using a band saw, cutting torch or grinder.
    • Layout parts and prep material for welding.
    • Setup machines and weld carbon and stainless steels with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes.
    • Weld in all positions
    • Pass various types of visual and nondestructive inspections on completed work
    • Follow safety regulations and PPE requirements
    • Maintain a neat and clean work area
    • Must supply welding hood and hand tools
    • Work alone or as a team
    • Continuous learning of products, applications, technology, market conditions and competitive advantages.

    Skills & Qualifications – Fitter Welder

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Desire and ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing field
    • Ability to work overtime on short notice
    • High level communication and organization skills, as well as a positive attitude towards customer service
    • Solid basic computer knowledge
    • Works well independently or with a team
    • Ability to manually lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment and materials
    • Ability to work under little supervision
    • Customer-first attitude
    • Ability to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions
    • Adaptable and comfortable with changing environments and protocols, understanding other duties might be required
    • Degree from a Technical or Vocational school in pipe and structural welding
    • Previous experience in industrial construction or maintenance
