Job Description

We are currently seeking a Bookkeeper for a remote, temporary assignment (2 months) located in South Austin.  Our client is a telecom construction company with operations throughout Texas and several other states. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Responsible for the monitoring and collection of past due accounts- Bank & credit card reconciliation for multiple accounts, some of which have 250+ transactions per month
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
• Perform partial checks of the posting process.
• Complete tax forms.
• Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handles payroll in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• 2+ years’ experience with QuickBooks Desktop.
• Some college-level courses in accounting, or experience working under a Controller, CFO, or working as an employee of an accounting firm.
• Strong MS Office skills, with Intermediate level proficiency in Excel.
• Must work quickly with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to efficiently meet deadlines.
• Experience with Telecom Construction and/or government contracting. Commercial construction accounting background, with experience using PO's, estimates, progress invoicing, and job costing in QuickBooks (preferred).
• Experience with Sage 500 (preferred).
