    Job Description

    Under the immediate direction of the Co-Presidents of the League of Women Voters Orange Co. FL (LWVOC), while working closely with members of the Board, as well as other volunteer leaders, to carry out the mission and goals of the LWVOC. Supports the overall administration of the LWVOC including organizational operations, program administration, database management, event support, and fund development.

    POSITION STATUS

    Exempt position with an average work week of 30 hours at the rate of $25 an hour

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    1. Schedule Executive Board and Board meetings.
    2. Prepare agendas and materials for meetings; attend Executive Board and Board meetings; prepare draft minutes for review and approval by the Secretary.
    3. Maintain President(s) League calendar; help schedule meetings of the President(s) with key officials in the community.
    4. Monitor and manage electronic and other correspondence; prepare and send responses, with approval of the President(s) or others to whom the responsibility has been delegated; ensure operations are carried out in appropriate, cost-effective ways.
    5. Maintain databases and productivity statistics.
    6. Assist in meetings and events
    7. Act as administrative liaison between LWVOC and other local and state Leagues; monitor and respond to LWVUS and LWVFL requests and educational materials.
    8. Attend League events, as requested and approved by President(s).
    9. Support advocacy and strategic committee needs, as requested or as prioritized by President(s).
    10. Assist with new member stewardship, including engagement of new members.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    1. Able to work remotely (i.e., no office space provided by LWVOC)
    2. Able to work evenings and occasional weekends
    3. Must be self-scheduling and experienced at getting tasks done in a timely manner under pressure
    4. Proven ability to set, self-monitor, and meet goals
    5. Proven well-honed computer skills, including but not limited to:

    ●      Conversant with Email; blast email options and posting to social media

    ●      Conversant with or willing to learn association management software from Club Express

    ●      Document, spreadsheet and presentation creation, editing and sharing in Google Docs

    1. Proven ability to schedule and run in-person and virtual meetings
    2. Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining operational policies and procedures; suggest improvements and once approved, implement changes.
    3. Handle all duties related to efficient organizational management
    4. Able to research via web to gain background and insight on various topics as they arise
    5. Proven ability to organize and process large amounts of data and information
    6. Outstanding oral and written communication skills
    7. Able to promote League positions and principles, including those of LWVFL and LWVUS, maintaining non-partisan positions

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    1. Event planning experience
    2. Prior experience supporting a volunteer organization
    3. Coordinating a diverse group with a variety of perspectives
    4. Public speaking skills 
    5. Learning to identify skill sets of others

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    ●      Compensation rate: $25/hour

    ●      Position is part time at 25-35 hours per week for 50 weeks/year

    ●      LWVOC Membership 

    ●      Will participate in LWVOC regular meetings and events at no charge

    ●      May set own weekly work schedule (as approved by the Presidents) but must be available for Board and other special meetings, forums, press conferences, as requested
