    SUMMARY

    Field Supervisor needed for Garage Door, Gutter, Fabric Shield and Shelving Departments.

    Assists the Production Manager in ensuring the completion of production jobs and work orders. Responsible for the supervision/coordination and completion of the production activities. Responsible for safety compliance.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Ensures that production schedules, work orders, and assignments are met according to guidelines/timelines.

    Verifies material and resource availability prior to work order dispatch.

    Creates and modifies work order schedules for a group or department based on completion/ non-completion of other work priorities and availability of materials.

    Identifies and resolves issues preventing work order completion or impacting scheduling.

    May assist with the hands-on completion of production jobs and activities.

    Oversees quality of work performed and reports any discrepancies to the quality assurance representatives.

    Examines and inspects work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met. Performs Job Safety Inspections (JSI’s) to support the company initiatives for safe work environments. Checks jobs for readiness including heights and verifies safety equipment is in place.

    Conducts weekly safety meetings with work crews and creates a culture for working safely.

    Provides On Job Training (OJT) through self or others, to workers to ensure work is being performed in accordance with company specifications and procedures. Checks to verify installers utilize equipment safely and efficiently.

    Provides oversight and accountability for accurate time records of assigned workers.

    Responsible for maintaining and supporting positive employee relations including responding promptly to employee concerns, application of proper progressive discipline practices and compliance with employment law.

    Any other duty, task or responsibility as assigned.

    Supervisory or Management Responsibility – Has the authority to direct or oversee the employee’s daily work activities. Does not have authority to undertake or recommend the following employment actions; hiring, termination, corrective action or performance reviews.

    Decision-Making Level and Scope – Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a division/department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the division/department.

    Independence of Action - Results are defined. Sets own goals and determines how to accomplish results with some guidelines. Supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.

     

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Minimum Degree: High school education or equivalent plus three years or more experience.

    Course of study: NA

    Special Certification or Licensing: Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain MCS/MVR approval and PACE certification. Obtain proper safety and machine certifications as required.

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    Need to work overtime and weekends as required

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.

    EXPERIENCE           

    Minimum experience: 3+ years

    Required Industry Experience (Construction, Insulation, Trades, etc.): Prior Installation, Service Center, or Distribution center experience a plus.

    Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age
