    SUMMARY:  Performs tests and repairs on a variety of electronic and/or mechanical controllers returned from the field. Builds and tests refurbished controllers. Ensures repaired controllers meet established specifications.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     1. EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED with course work in reading Schematics and Bills of Materials and basic Technical documentation.

    2. EXPERIENCE: In addition to years of experience, skill sets, job knowledge, performance and scope of work will determine the employee’s potential grade level.

      1. (Technician I, Controller Repair) = Minimum 2 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      2.  (Technician II, Controller Repair) = Minimum 3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      3.  (Technician III, Controller Repair) = Minimum 5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    3. TRAINING: Apprenticeship or formal training in electric/electronic repair highly desirable.

    4. COMPUTER SKILLS: Must have ability to effectively use personal computer and associated software.

    5. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

    6. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    7. REASONING SKILLS: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Technician III must have ability to solve non-routine problems.

    8. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have ability to effectively use various electronic, hand and power tools and test equipment. Demonstrated ability to solder (through-hole and surface-mount) and de-solder.  Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints and test procedures.  Ability to use precision measuring devices, Oscilloscopes and Electronic Test Instrumentation.

    When performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to lift and store bins containing controller related products weighing up to 25 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Applicable safety measures that are in place must be observed.

  • Qualifications
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019
    • Knowledge of Tenable/ACAS
    • Knowledge of NIST guidelines and RMF knowledge is desired
    • Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
    • Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace
