    FUND OPERATIONS/ COMPLIANCE ANALYST

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Leargas Capital is a boutique investment management firm, managing  institutional capital across a number of closed end fund structures, with a focus on investment opportunities across US mortality linked investment markets.

    Management's extensive track record and experience in mortality insurance/reinsurance markets, and capital market derivatives thereof, its propriety data analytics and value based investment thesis, are fundamental to the success of the firm.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION :

    An opportunity has a risen for a high growth individual to join the Leargas Capital team to take primary responsibility for optimizing the firm’s existing operating, compliance, and reporting infrastructure, creating efficiencies, robust controls, and positioning the firm for expected additional scale

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain and build Leargas Capital relationships and connectivity with its core Third Party Administrators (“TPAs”) in order to manage TPAs effectively and direct TPAs across the tasks and activities assigned thereto
    • Manage off-shore Fund tax infrastructure and maintain tax operating guidelines;
    • Manage Fund accounting, both financial reporting requirements and management information systems;
    • Create and maintain internal dashboards that measure performance of TPAs
    • Effectively manage, monitor and review in-force Fund Investments
    • Develop and maintain firm level Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) and controls frame work
    • Aggregate data from multiple sources to generate reports to be used to make decisions at the level of individual Fund investments
    • Take ownership of aggregation of all data (both directly and via management of TPA relationships) & analytics by providing analysis and key takeaways
    • Assist with due diligence activities for fund acquisition opportunities, and present results to senior management and external investors
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS with a major in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in a financial services environment with a proven competency in operations and/or compliance
    • Goal and results focused mindset
    • Ability to think and operate from first principles
    • Detail oriented with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Self-starter with ability to work independently but also collaboratively within an autonomous environment
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal form, and to distil complex matters into clearly understood and articulated calls to action
    • Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple objectives
    • Aptitude to learn the Leargas Capital investment management process
    • Be comfortable getting involved outside of job spec
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
    • Understanding of VBA & SQL a plus, but not required
