For nearly 25 years, we have provided on-site instructional services within the hospital setting, helping students to continue their academic progress during treatment and successfully reenter the classroom. LearnWell is currently looking for a motivating and creative teacher to educate students who are being hospitalized in Newark, NJ. Do you want to influence the lives of children without having to worry about grading or administration? In this position, you will be part of a team whose main focus is always the students. In our flexible and creative environment, you are able to teach various subjects and focus on teaching instead of grading! Don't worry, our teachers are not expected to know all grade levels and subjects! We have a network of 100+ talented educators company wide, and many other resources (such as our own curriculum for our teachers) to help you and your students be successful! In this position, you will be teaching a small group of students in a behavioral treatment center. You will help these children to stay on track with their academics while they are unable to attend their traditional schools during treatment. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Teaching children ages 5-17 years old in a small group setting * Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction * Working with children on their individual school curriculum * Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies * Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student * Communicating with hospital staff and any corresponding district personnel The position is 5 days a week (M-F). This position can be 30 or 40 hours per week, based on candidate preference (7:30-4:00 or 9:00-3:00).
