Summary :
The Leasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating all leasing activities and rental assistance functions across various affordable housing programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and committed to maintaining positive relationships with residents and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities :
Review, process, and track new resident applications, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
Conduct eligibility assessments and initiate verification procedures in accordance with program guidelines.
Guide applicants through the leasing process, answering questions and ensuring a smooth experience from application to move-in.
Perform background, credit, and reference checks on prospective residents and communicate outcomes professionally.
Obtain required signatures and finalize lease paperwork prior to move-in.
Maintain organized and compliant resident files consistent with housing program regulations.
Foster positive resident relations and contribute to a welcoming, professional community atmosphere.
Support the management team with administrative and leasing-related tasks as needed.
Represent the organization with professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to service excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience : No prior leasing experience required; training will be provided.
Skills :
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic proficiency in computer and office software systems.
Positive interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
Work Environmen t:
This role is primarily office-based, requiring extended periods of sitting and frequent phone communication.
