  • Responsibilities

Imagine working in a fast-paced residential environment where your role directly shapes the experience of hundreds of residents. We manage two well-established Class B apartment communities in Central New Jersey, totaling 960 units. Our properties operate with fully staffed in-house maintenance, janitorial, and accounting teams, allowing the leasing team to stay focused on residents, prospective tenants, and maintaining strong occupancy. With strong operational support behind you, this role gives you the opportunity to focus on what matters most: building relationships, leasing apartments, and creating a welcoming community environment.

We are seeking a Leasing & Resident Coordinator who is personable, organized, and confident interacting with residents and prospects throughout the day. This role sits at the center of daily community operations. You will guide prospective residents through the leasing process from first tour to signed lease, while also serving as a key point of contact for current residents. The position requires someone who enjoys being on-site, engaging with people, and balancing both leasing activity and resident support. For someone with prior leasing experience, this is a strong opportunity to join a stable operation, contribute to occupancy growth, and play an important role in the day-to-day success of two large communities.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct professional and engaging apartment tours for prospective residents and effectively guide them through the leasing process.
    • Build rapport with prospects, answer questions about the community, and confidently close leases.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for current residents, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive living experience.
    • Coordinate all aspects of resident move-ins and move-outs, ensuring paperwork, communication, and internal coordination are handled smoothly.
    • Work closely with the in-house maintenance and janitorial teams to address service requests and maintain high standards throughout the property.
    • Assist with promoting available units and maintaining strong occupancy across both communities.
    • Track leasing activity, resident communications, and community feedback, providing updates and reports to management as needed.
    • Maintain organized records related to leases, resident interactions, and leasing performance.
    • Support the overall community atmosphere by helping create a professional, responsive, and resident-focused environment.

    Qualifications

    • Prior leasing or property management experience is required. Candidates without leasing experience will not be considered.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly with prospects and residents.
    • Professional, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the day.
    • Comfortable working full-time on-site and interacting directly with residents and prospective tenants daily.
    • Experience with leasing workflows, applications, and property management systems is preferred.

    Compensation

    • Base salary: $55,000 – $60,000 annually.
    • Leasing commission: $65 per lease signed. After 8 leases in a month, commission increases to $130 per additional lease.
    • Full-time, on-site schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a people-centered environment, takes pride in creating a great resident experience, and wants to be part of a well-run residential operation where their leasing success directly contributes to the community's growth.
