    Job Description

     

    The PAYROLL SPECIALIST will support and maintain a structured payroll process, ensuring consistency and accuracy with the periodic execution of US payroll. The individual is responsible for key areas of payroll-related administration including benefit deductions and compliance. This role will interface with Human Resources and Finance team members and various external service providers to obtain the information necessary to coordinate the timely processing of the payroll. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Sr. Payroll Manager, the Sr. Payroll Specialist proactively contributes to various aspects of the payroll function.

     

    Job Functions

    • Provide, coordinate and consolidate all necessary data to process payroll in a timely and accurate manner following legal and company standards. Includes handling of extracts from Workday and maintenance in ADP, (i.e, new hires, terminations, salary/status changes, etc.)

    • Exports files from Workday to update ADP payroll in compliance with Federal & State requirements, such as, new hires, terminations, salary/status changes, Maintains direct deposit and W-4 tax form changes.

    • Computes retroactive adjustments for compensation, benefits, status changes, Leave of Absences, Manages weekly paid employees, overtime and salaried non-exempt pay.

    • Extracts exception time entries from Microsoft Dynamics D365 and imports to Excel for auditing control and upload to ADP payroll system.

    • Applies knowledge of the Company’s policies and procedures related to payroll, timekeeping, audit, and accounting to ensure quality outcomes.

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local tax regulations.

    • Responds to internal and external inquiries on payroll related issues.

    • Works with Human Resources to maintain system integrity, auditing, completing Highly Confidential records, etc.

    • Calculates termination pay for US employees and manages payroll exit process.

    • Understand and meet our guidelines on best business practices for the payroll Maintains and updates payroll process documents.

    • Other job duties as requested.

     

    Minimum/Preferred Requirements

    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

    • Certified Payroll Professional, Certified Payroll Administrator or Payroll Compliance Professional certification desired.

    • 5-7 years of experience in payroll, statistical analysis, accounting or finance is required.

    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and aptitude to learn / adapt to new technology. Working knowledge of ADP Freedom, ADP Streamline and Workday are preferred.

    • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local tax regulations.
