    Job Description

    Community based non-profit organization in Los Angeles is looking for an Accounting Manager.  In this position, the Accounting Manager will oversee a small team and be responsible for the day to day accounting functions for the company.  Responsibilities for the Accounting Manager include financial statement preparation, month / quarter / year-end closes, cash flow management (A/P and A/R), and fixed assets.  The Accounting Manager will also manage DMH, government, and other cyclical audits, submit fiscal contract reports, analyze and manage program budgets, ensure contract compliance, as well as collaborate with senior management on corporate objectives.  The Accounting Manager will also conduct grant and funding management/analysis, ensure efficient policies and procedures, conduct contract review, prepare financial reports, and assist with the preparation of the fiscal budget. 

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
    • CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
    • Non-profit industry experience required, preferably with strong knowledge of DMH (Department of Mental Health) or DHS (Department of Healthcare Services). 
    • Government (city, county, and state) grant, funding, and contract management experience is ideal. 
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.
    • Must have strong technical / systems skills – advanced MS Office.
    • Track record of driving process improvement.  Creative mentality.
    • Strong time and self-management skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment.
