Job Title BOOKKEEPER

JOB SUMMARY

LYC is a complete "wealth care" practice founded by CPAs located in Westwood, MA. Our CPA Firm is a full-service public accounting firm currently seeking an experienced self-motivated and enthusiastic professional to provide bookeeping services for our diversified base of small business clients and to be part of a growing firm in a friendly, team oriented environment. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Receives, records, and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
• Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Compiles statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables of cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
• Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
• Balance and maintain accurate ledgers
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxes

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Experience: 1-5 years.

SKILLS

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office and Excel software
• General office or bookkeeping knowledge
• Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes
• Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
• Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations
