    POSITION: Food Quality and Safety Specialist (HACCP/FISMA) The Food Quality and Safety Specialist (HACCP/FISMA) oversees inspections and monitoring quality of received and in-process food products (including temperatures, consistencies, counts, weights, compliance with food quality control and sanitation standards and procedures).

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Monitors the HACCP program (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points); maintains relevant standardized records and reports
    • Conducts sanitation inspections of all food production/handling area and equipment to ensure HACCP guidelines are met
    • Proactively initiates problem-solving with food handling, production, storage, and delivery team members in response to quality-related issues; reports problems to upper management
    • Provides assistance to customers regarding concerns with quality issues
    • Documents and maintains detailed records on quality issues and actions taken
    • Works with manager to address any issues revealed by internal and external audits
    • Ensure compliance with all customer specifications, U. S. D. A. and F. D. A. requirements for each product processed.
    • Performs daily sanitation, pest control and good manufacturing practices inspections.
    • Maintains accurate quality records, employee manning records and other data as requested.
    • Directs compliance with plant quality and sanitation regulations. This may include stopping, slowing or delaying production line to insure proper product quality or sanitation.
    • Participate in R&D, new product testing and development as requested.
    • Responsible of Product Quality Control: Develop method for testing the quality of each production batch and implement testing daily.
    • Other duties may be assigned

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's (BS) Degree in Food Science or Food Technology
    • Minimum of 5 Years' experience in a production environment, QA, Food Safety, Quality Assurance , HACCP, FSMA preferable.
    • Track record of quality/ inspection monitoring and reporting
    • Experience with HACCP highly preferred
    • Extremely keen attention to detail
    • Highly organized with a passion for excellence
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Software
