    A leading financial practice affiliated with a Fortune 100 company is seeking a new Associate Financial Advisor to join our North Carolina retirement and estate planning firm, providing optimal client outcomes and fee-based, not fee-only, planning solutions; we provide integrated insurance solutions in a fiduciary capacity. Our firm has over 30 years of experience in vision casting for potential impact and leveraging best-of-breed integrated solutions. In addition, two of our advisors were named by Forbes/Shook to the Best-In-State for 2022, and our co-founder was named to the Forbes Top 250 Financial Security Professionals in the country in 2021.

    Prior insurance or investment experience is required. This position requires someone with great attention to detail, who can establish priorities, follow timelines to meet deadlines, and simultaneously work among multiple Advisors and teams. The office is located in New Bern, North Carolina, and the position is not remote.

    An Associate Financial Advisor (AFA) with our firm will

    • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with a background in planning, mathematics, or finance
    • Understand financial planning concepts, recognize personal and corporate financial documents, take direction, and facilitate interaction with outside resources.
    • Utilize eMoney financial planning software to gather, input, organize, and evaluate data (i.e., client financial statements and relevant documents) and prepare the client's financial recommendations (with the financial Advisor's guidance).
    • Prepare final reports, analyses, and proposals (with financial advisors' guidance) for periodic client appointments and work with the Client Coordinator to schedule these appointments.
    • Interact with prospective clients and their advisors through appointments and working sessions.
    • Support current clients by updating their financial plans and profiles through enhanced reporting on their continued needs and develop presentation materials for reviews.
    • Act proactively to promptly analyze and resolve customer service issues with limited direction from the Advisor.
    • Prepare paperwork for new client accounts and new accounts for existing clients.
    • Work with the Operations Manager and Financial Advisor to move clients through the cycle of operations and provide optimal client experiences through touches and ongoing communications.
    • Assist with research projects involving client planning
    • Update and assist in the maintenance of the CRM system and the electronic client files
    • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

    The minimum requirements for this position

    • A minimum of three (3) years of financial services experience, ideally in a B/D or RIA environment
    • NC Health & Life Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire
    • FINRA Series 7 and 66, or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire
    • Completion of CFP® coursework would be a bonus
    • Competency in financial planning, investment, insurance, and complex estate planning with proficient technical capabilities
    • Advanced-level computer skills, with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with eMoney software, is, preferred.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • A strong desire to develop personal and professional skills, as well as knowledge and understanding of holistic planning practices and philosophies

    Exceptional candidates will be considered for mentoring and advancement opportunities within our firm. This is a full-time in-office position with a competitive salary and benefits. We work Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM, with most major holidays off. Some travel may be required from time to time.
