    Our busy law firm is looking for a dependable and efficient in-office Legal Assistant/Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will be comfortable applying their legal experience and skills to assist attorneys and legal staff with casework, as well as handling administrative projects and tasks. You must be a proactive problem solver who naturally takes initiative while adhering to established policies and procedures. Responsibilities: • Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel. • Coordinate/schedule meetings, phone calls, depositions, hearings, and mediations. • Electronic filing/service of case documents. • Monitor/save incoming filings, service documents, document production, and faxes. • File organization in the firm’s document management system. • Prepare correspondence and legal documents. • Support the legal team in day-to-day case management and deposition/hearing/trial preparation. • Request/maintain updated medical and billing records. • Process case expenses. • Process incoming and outgoing mail. • Office and telephone reception. • Assist with the case opening/closing process. • Assist with on-site vendor and facilities management. • Coordinate in-office meetings and prepare for and manage guests' needs. • Provide support to the administrative team with ad hoc projects. Qualifications: • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a personal injury law firm as a legal assistant or secretary. Medical malpractice experience is a plus. • Knowledge of Texas civil litigation procedure strongly preferred. • Technologically proficient, working with Microsoft Office programs, electronic document management systems, and case management systems. • Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills. • An associate’s degree or some college is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. • Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. • Willingness to expand your legal and administrative skills and experience with a potential for career growth. Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000 yearly
