What You'll Do This is not a traditional support role. You'll own three distinct functions — billing and collections, legal and paralegal support, and firm operations — while serving as a trusted right hand to the Firm's Founder. If you're someone who thrives on variety, takes pride in doing things right, and brings calm and professionalism to high-stakes situations, this role was built for you. At a firm our size, your work is visible, your contributions are valued, and your growth is real. You'll have direct access to the Firm's Founder, genuine ownership over your work, and the satisfaction of knowing that what you do every day makes a difference — for the firm and for the clients we serve. We're not looking for someone to fill a seat. We're looking for someone who wants to build something with us. Responsibilities: Billing & Collections — 40% of your role • Orchestrate our benchmark billing workflow in Clio Manage, compiling weekly earned benchmark reports in Google Sheets for Managing Partner review • Coordinate weekly trust-to-operating transfers in strict compliance with DC Rules of Professional Conduct • Administer client payment plans — processing monthly card payments on the 5th, 15th, and 25th, and accurately routing each payment to the trust or operating based on real-time case status • Monitor accounts receivable and drive collections follow-up on outstanding balances Legal & Paralegal Support — 30% of your role • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Managing Partner's clients — fielding calls via RingCentral, emails, and texts via Kenect with professionalism and genuine empathy • Open and maintain client matters in Clio Manage and Box, keeping files current and organized • Manage the Managing Partner's Google Calendar, including court dates, hearings, client meetings, and case deadlines • Execute e-filings in DC Superior Court via CaseFileXpress • Proactively surface time-sensitive deadlines and keep matters moving forward Firm Operations — 30% of your role • Oversee day-to-day DC office operations, including vendor management, recurring billing setup, and supply ordering via the firm's Staples account • Serve as the first line of resolution for vendor issues — Pitney Bowes, LexisNexis, RingCentral, and others — escalating to the Managing Partner only when necessary • Act as an operational resource and training lead for legal assistants in the DC office and a point of contact for staff across all three locations • Occasionally accompany the Managing Partner to our Rockville and Fairfax offices Qualifications: What We're Looking For3–5 years of law firm experience or a track record supporting a senior executive in a complex, fast-paced environment • Clio Manage proficiency — or demonstrated experience with comparable legal practice management software • Billing and collections experience , ideally including trust accounting and payment plan administration • Google Workspace fluency — Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and Drive are central to how we work • DC Superior Court e-filing experience via CaseFileXpress is a strong plus • Familiarity with any of the following is a bonus: Kenect, Box, Clio Grow, RingCentral, or QuickBooks • A bachelor's degree , or equivalent experience that demonstrates the same level of capability • The kind of person who handles confidential information without being told, communicates with warmth and precision, and doesn't need micromanaging • Genuine composure and empathy when working with clients navigating some of the most stressful moments of their lives — this is a deeply client-facing role, and it matters enormously to us Compensation: $55,000 – $68,000 based on experience
