Summary
Responsible for assisting the Grand Counselor by conducting research to support a legal proceeding, formulating a defense, or initiating legal action. Analyze law sources such as statues, legal articles, constitutions, and legal codes to assist the Grand Counselor in the preparation of legal documents on behalf of the fraternity. Resolve routine legal issues. Investigate the facts of cases, as directed, and ensure that all relevant information is considered. Prepare written reports useful to the Grand Counselor in determining how certain legal matters and/or cases should be handled. Assist in the preparation of legal documents, draft pleadings and motions to be filed with the court, obtain affidavits, and if necessary, provide assistance during trial. Organize and track files of all important case documents and make them available and easily accessible to the Grand Counselor. Conduct all necessary legal administrative duties. Other related duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct research to support the fraternity in a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense, or to initiate legal action.
Assist the Grand Counselor by researching legal precedents, investigating facts, or prepping legal documents.
Analyze law sources such as statues, legal articles, constitutions, and legal codes to assist the Grand Counselor in the preparation of legal documents on behalf of the fraternity.
Under the direction of the Grand Counselor, responsible for resolving routine legal issues.
Investigate the facts of cases, as directed, and ensure that all relevant information is considered. Identify appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other materials that are relevant to assigned cases.
Prepare written reports useful to the Grand Counselor in determining how certain legal matters and/or cases should be handled.
Monitor and track all Trademarks and Copyrights of the Fraternity.
Assist the Grand Counselor prepare legal arguments, draft pleadings and motions to be filed with the court, obtain affidavits, and if necessary, provide assistance during trial.
Organize and track files of all important case documents and make them available and easily accessible to the Grand Counselor.
Conduct all necessary legal administrative duties.
Administer the Insurance Event Checklist Process (review and approve requests, maintain request files, determine eligibility, notify requestors of status, etc.)
Coordinate the Vendor Management Process (review applications, maintain files, maintain vendor status, remove inactive vendors, manage vender participation for fraternity events, etc.)
Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in process improvement.
5+ years’ relevant experience.
Strong analytical, oral communication, and technical writing abilities.
Paralegal certification (preferred)
Strong computer skills, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Ability to work independently and in group settings.
