Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: • Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines • Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly • Responsible for completing ad hoc tasks as assigned by paralegals and attorneys, along with the direct supervisor • Manages all outgoing mailing and ensures that labeling, postage is in compliance with standard procedures and compliance and regulations • Assisting with trial, which includes preparation, printing documents, organizing with direction for paralegals and attorneys, and assisting with jury selection • Occasionally required to deliver documents to the court and accompany attorneys during trial Qualifications: • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products • Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment Compensation: $18 - $19 hourly with eligibility for performance bonus
