Responsibilities: • Assist the retired Judge and attorneys in the preparation, filing, and tracking of immigration petitions, applications, motions, and other legal documents before EOIR (immigration courts) and USCIS. • Draft and organize filings for removal defense, asylum, adjustment of status, waivers, appeals, humanitarian cases, and family-based immigration matters. • Prepare cover letters and assemble complete filing packets for submission to USCIS and EOIR, ensuring compliance with agency requirements. • Complete and prepare common immigration forms, including but not limited to Form I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-864, I-589, I-601, I-601A, and I-290B, as well as EOIR filings such as EOIR-28, EOIR-27, EOIR-26, and EOIR-42B • Conduct legal research and stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and procedural changes. • Prepare and compile declarations, supporting evidence, exhibits, and case packets for hearings and interviews. • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and answer case-related questions. • Maintain accurate, organized client digital files. • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration requirements. • Schedule client appointments, court hearings, and interviews with immigration agencies. • Monitor and track deadlines to ensure timely submissions. • Collaborate closely with the legal team to develop case strategies and achieve the best possible outcomes. Qualifications: • Minimum 1 year of immigration experience, with a strong focus on EOIR and USCIS practice. • Demonstrated experience working with asylum cases, family-based petitions, cover letters, and preparation of common USCIS immigration forms. • Thorough knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, procedures, and standard immigration forms. • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and evidence organization. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency with immigration case management software and Microsoft Office Suite, FileVine is a plus. • Bilingual (Spanish/English, Russian/English, etc.) strongly preferred. • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment. • High-level organizational and time-management skills.
