At Council & Associates, our team is committed to delivering strong legal results while ensuring every client feels informed, respected, and supported throughout their legal journey. As a Legal Assistant, you will play an important role in keeping cases organized and moving forward by supporting attorneys, paralegals, and case managers with administrative and case support tasks. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and dependable, and who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Responsibilities: • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys, paralegals, and case managers on personal injury matters • Maintain organized case files, including document management, record tracking, and file updates • Draft and prepare routine correspondence, forms, and basic legal documents for attorney or paralegal review • Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and vendors to obtain documents and case information • Assist with gathering medical records, bills, and supporting documentation for active cases • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and case-related documents in accordance with firm procedures • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in the firm’s case management system • Support scheduling, calendaring, and meeting coordination for attorneys and case staff • Assist with case preparation tasks, including document organization and deadline tracking • Provide administrative support to ensure firm procedures and case management workflows are followed Qualifications: • Prior experience in a law firm or legal support role preferred (personal injury experience is a plus) • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and team members • Proficiency with legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace • Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented work ethic Compensation: $17 - $20 hourly
