  • Responsibilities

    We are Florida's premier residential construction law firm for homeowners. We handle construction disputes through all phases of pre-litigation and litigation in Florida state and Federal courts. We are on track for aggressive growth. We are seeking a Legal Assistant with experience responding to discovery requests in a practice area where discovery requests are not standardized or form-driven. You will assist clients in locating and providing information and documents responsive to requests. You will prepare first drafts of answers and responses to discovery, including objecting where appropriate. You will identify documents and communications we need to assert are privileged, and complete privilege logs. Our office is located in Boca Raton, Florida; however, this job can be performed remotely. Experience with Florida Courts is required. Experience with Construction Law is a plus. Responsibilities: • Preparing initial drafts of discovery responses • Drafting objections to discovery requests • Identifying privileged documents and preparing privilege logs • Being our firm's liaison with clients to assist them with locating and producing responsive discoverable information and documents • Redacting, organizing, and Bates-stamping document production Qualifications: • Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs • Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products • Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment • 3 to 4 years of experience at a Florida law firm in a similar role • Knowledge of when and how to assert discovery objections • Knowledge of when and how to assert privilege over documents • Incredible attention to detail • Ability to demonstrate empathy for clients going through very difficult circumstances Compensation: $50,000 to $65,000 annually
