The Role We need an experienced Legal Assistant to serve as the organizational and administrative backbone for our attorneys and paralegals. This is a vital support role that demands high attention to detail, strong professionalism, and an eagerness to take initiative. You will blend essential administrative support with hands-on legal document management to ensure we serve clients with maximum efficiency and care. Responsibilities: This role is a dynamic mix of high-level legal support and firm operations: • Case & Document Management: Draft, type, and file legal documents and correspondence; maintain accurate, organized filing systems. • Discovery Support: Assist with research, case preparation, gathering relevant information, and accurately summarizing depositions, interrogatories, and testimony. • Client & Team Liaison: Handle phone calls, emails, client communications, and scheduling while maintaining a professional, polished demeanor. • Operations & Deadlines: Monitor deadlines, help manage calendars efficiently, and take initiative to problem-solve and anticipate team needs. • Office Contribution: Complete errands, attend trials as requested, and help maintain office areas (kitchen, conference rooms) to improve overall team and client experience. Qualifications: Who You Are • A seasoned assistant with prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary (required). • Deeply familiar with legal procedures, protocols, and the court system (required). • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure. • An expert user of legal technology and office software (including Microsoft Office, CLIO/Lawmatics, Dropbox, QuickBooks, etc.). • Eager to contribute as a team player, willing to step up, and comfortable working with minimal supervision. • Bonus points if you're bilingual, but not required!
