Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant who can help the busy attorneys and paralegals at our law office assist clients. You’ll be responsible for the preparation and processing of legal documents and other administrative tasks, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, conducting research, and performing any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. Responsibilities: • Assist paralegals and attorneys with document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading of legal documents, such as pleadings, exhibits, and discovery requests • Manage client communication and correspondence, including phone calls and email • Meet with clients in the office for questions, notary services, disbursements, etc. • Schedule appointments, court dates, and other case-related events based on attorney and client availability • Conduct legal research using online and print sources, following the direction and guidance of the paralegal • Perform general administrative tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and filing • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of court rules, procedures, and legal requirements • Perform other duties as needed by the paralegal or attorneys Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent • 1-2 years of experience in a legal office or law firm setting, preferably in personal injury, medical malpractice, or civil litigation • Knowledge of legal concepts and principles sufficient to perform research tasks under the direction and guidance of the paralegal • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and other support staff • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Familiarity with case management software and databases is preferred • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards Compensation: $20 - $24 hourly
