A growing immigration and estate planning law practice is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to support its Fort Lauderdale office. This dual-role position involves preparing immigration petitions and managing estate planning documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering compassionate, client-focused support.
Responsibilities:
Immigration Duties:
- Prepare and file immigration applications and petitions, including E2, EB-5, family-based immigration, and business visas
- Communicate with clients to gather and organize documentation
- Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely case progression
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy
- Schedule client meetings, interviews, and prep sessions
- Draft immigration-related correspondence, forms, and affidavits
Estate Planning Duties:
- Draft estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Collect and organize client information to ensure accuracy
- Maintain and execute estate planning documents and files
- Provide administrative support for estate administration and probate matters
- Attend client meetings to assist attorneys in delivering tailored legal solutions
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree
- 2+ years of experience in immigration and/or estate planning law
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, empathetic, and client-oriented demeanor
Compensation:
- Salary range: $50,000–$70,000 annually
