Legal Assistant – Full Time (In-Person, Downtown St. Louis)

Keefe & Griffiths, PC is a well-established St. Louis law firm representing injured workers in Missouri and Illinois workers’ compensation cases. We are seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our dedicated team in our downtown office.
This position requires a detail-oriented, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys helping clients navigate the legal process. You’ll support several attorneys handling workers’ compensation claims and serve as an important point of contact for clients and case management.
Responsibilities
Open and organize new case files
Prepare and file pleadings and correspondence
Order and process medical records
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including pleadings, client communications, and medical records, etc.
E-file documents through IL CompFile and the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation
Answer and route phone calls, take messages, and assist clients
Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, etc.
Support attorneys and staff with additional projects as needed
Bilingual fluency in Spanish a strong plus
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Experience in a law firm and/or workers’ compensation experience a plus, but will train.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Professional, dependable, and self-motivated with a team-oriented mindset
Commitment to maintaining client and firm confidentiality
Position Details
Full-time, in-person position (Monday–Friday)
Located downtown St. Louis in a secure building with free garage parking
Competitive compensation - negotiable based on experience
