    Skinner Law Firm is a fast-paced, client-focused plaintiffs' firm dedicated to representing those injured in Virginia. We are looking for a highly organized Legal Assistant to support one of our Personal Injury attorneys. This role is essential to keeping litigation running smoothly — freeing the attorney to focus on what only an attorney can do. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts with minimal supervision. You'll be a key point of contact for clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and a wide range of litigation professionals, so a professional and friendly demeanor is a must. This role offers flexibility - with options to work remotely or from one of our four office locations. The attorney this position supports is based in Ashburn. Occasional in-person presence at the Ashburn office, Northern Virginia courthouses, and our main office in Charles Town will be required. Responsibilities: Scheduling & Coordination • Schedule and coordinate attorney appointments, depositions, mediation sessions, and client prep meetings • Manage the attorney's Calendly scheduling system • Reserve conference rooms and send confirmation and reminder communications to all parties • Monitor deadlines and proactively flag scheduling conflicts or issues Communication • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, mediators, court reporters, videographers, translators, and opposing counsel • Serve as a reliable point of contact for case logistics and scheduling updates • Prepare cover letters and simple form correspondence as directed Administrative & Case Support • Provide general administrative support to the attorney and paralegals, including scanning, copying, and data entry • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems • Mail outgoing correspondence and maintain accurate communication records Logistics & Travel • Ensure pleadings and filings reach the appropriate Virginia courthouses • Make travel arrangements for the attorney, including transportation and lodging Growth Opportunities • Assist with trial preparation logistics (binders, exhibits, subpoenas) • Draft routine discovery scheduling notices or subpoenas for attorney signature • Update internal calendars and docketing systems with key deadlines • Help ensure compliance with court scheduling orders and pre-trial requirements Qualifications: • Highly organized and detail-oriented • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Friendly, professional demeanor • Able to work independently and anticipate attorney needs • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new platforms • Trustworthy with confidential client information • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (travel to Northern Virginia courthouses required) Compensation: $18 hourly
