    Legal Assistant / Paralegal (Bilingual – Spanish Preferred) We are seeking a motivated administrative professional, legal assistant, or paralegal interested in supporting the Spanish-speaking community navigate the often challenging legal landscape of DUI charges. Position Overview The Legal Assistant plays a critical role in supporting attorneys and guiding clients through every stage of their case. You’ll manage the day-to-day movement of cases, ensuring everything happens accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building trust and maintaining clear, consistent communication—especially important for our Spanish-speaking clients. No legal experience? No problem. We provide hands-on training and a supportive team environment to help you succeed. Responsibilities: • Serve as the primary contact for all assigned clients and establish and maintain an authentic relationship with each client • Communicate with clients in English and Spanish (as applicable) to ensure clarity and trust • Manage all phases of each client case, including prioritizing tasks related to each case • Gather information from clients, district attorneys, and courts in a timely manner and schedule all related meetings and court appearances • Draft, review, and interpret legal documents and motions • Respond to all case-related inquiries from both internal and external sources in a timely manner • Use case management software (ActionStep) to record actions/communications for all cases, and Adobe Acrobat to edit and build documents • Answer phone calls and respond to emails within 24 hours Qualifications: • High School diploma required • Experience as a legal assistant or law firm experience preferred • If no legal assistant experience, a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in an administrative support role • Ability to learn and understand new concepts related to legal documents and processes • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing a high volume of work; adaptable and easily able to pivot as needed • Strong time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and multitask while maintaining exceptional attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in times of high emotional stress • Sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, and comfortable learning new programs quickly Compensation: $25 - $28 hourly
