We are seeking a Legal Assistant to become a part of our team! You will provide overall support our Family Law and Criminal Law Sections. This position is a floater position and you would need to be comfortable working in both fields of law.
Responsibilities:
- FULL TIME IN OFFICE POSITION (Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 5pm)
- Answering multi-line phone system (Receptionist)
- Communicating with court staff and client's professionally and effectively (Communication)
- Screening potential clients and directing their calls to the appropriate attorney (Intake)
- Filing paper & electronic documents (File Organization)
- Calendaring court dates (Calendaring)
- Record and store client information (Documentation)
- Preparing documents, completing tasks and calendaring for administrative license revocation hearings (ALRs)
- Preparing documents for occupational driver's license requests (ODLs)
- Preparing documents requesting bond modifications, travel requests, subpoenas, etc. (Pleadings)
- Responding to family law Discovery requests, and meeting deadlines (including keeping files organized)
- E-filing motions and orders
Qualifications:
- Fluent Spanish Speaker REQUIRED
- Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field
- Familiarity with how the courts work and the legal process
- Experience with E-Filing
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (People Skills)
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Proficiency with software (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Sharepoint, Adobe PDF, Dropbox, Clio, Lawruler, etc.)
