Position: Legal Assistant (Litigation Focus – Temp)
Location: Tysons, VA (Hybrid, 3–4 days onsite per week)
Compensation: $30–$33/hr
Duration: ~3 months (temp)
A growing law firm is urgently seeking a Legal Assistant to join their litigation team on a temporary basis. This role supports cases primarily related to employment law and federal administrative matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and format legal documents (pleadings, motions, briefs, etc.) ensuring compliance with court and agency rules
Provide full-spectrum litigation support: document organization, exhibit prep, witness coordination, and hearing/deposition assistance
Maintain case files and track deadlines to ensure timely submissions and filings
Assist attorneys with case management, fact-finding, and client communications
Conduct legal research via LexisNexis or Westlaw and summarize findings as needed
Must-Have Qualifications:
2+ years of Legal Assistant experience in a small to mid-sized law firm
Strong civil litigation experience and familiarity with federal courts
E-filing experience and document management skills
Excellent proofreading, organization, and time management abilities
Comfortable managing multiple inboxes and working under deadlines
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate required
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to federal administrative agency proceedings
Proficiency in NetDocuments
Familiarity with legal research tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw
Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
Maintains confidentiality and works well under pressure
