    The Maine Legal Group is looking for a detail-oriented, dependable, and genuinely team-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Family Law team. Our ideal candidate is the kind of person who can absorb new information, follow through on details, and stay organized when there are many moving pieces. You should be comfortable receiving direction, learning our systems and processes, and asking for clarification when something isn't clear. Just as importantly, you should be someone who treats clients, attorneys, and teammates with patience and respect. Responsibilities: You will provide day-to-day support to our Family Law team, helping keep client matters organized and moving forward. Opening and closing client matters in our case management and CRM systems and maintaining accurate physical files Processing and organizing court documents and updates , including scheduling notices, calendars, portal accounts, and physical files Monitoring team inboxes and processing incoming emails, documents, and system integrations Preparing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence using established templates and attorney direction Tracking motions and other court filings Communicating with courts and clients by phone and email Scheduling meetings and appointments between attorneys and clients and managing related calendar needs Processing client communications, follow-up, billing, and timekeeping in accordance with firm procedures Providing general administrative support and helping teammates with scanning, copying, filing, mailing correspondence, and other tasks that help the team operate efficiently Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience in a professional office environment ; legal office experience is preferred Experience with scheduling, document preparation, calendar and email management, and administrative support Comfortable learning and working with case management CRM software Comfortable with Mac OS, Apple Mail, and Google Workspace Strong written and verbal communication skills Good typing and computer skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change Compensation: $23 - $26 hourly commensurate with experience
