Position: Legal Bookkeeper Location: Tucson, Arizona Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Office Only

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly accurate and experienced Legal Bookkeeper with 3+ years experience to handle critical accounting tasks related to client settlements. This individual will also support general administrative and operational duties as needed. The right candidate will be dependable, highly organized, and skilled at managing complex financial data with confidentiality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and issue checks for client settlements, including disbursements and medical payments.
Maintain and reconcile client trust and escrow accounts in strict compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Handle accounts payable processes and ensure timely, accurate payments.
Accurately record and categorize all financial transactions related to client settlements.
Assist with general bookkeeping tasks, reporting, and audit preparation.
Support the office with additional duties such as filing, document handling, or other administrative needs.
Collaborate with attorneys and team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or 5+ years of experience.
Direct experience with payables, escrow, or trust accounts is required.
Strong mathematical skills and a commitment to accuracy.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and spreadsheets.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of financial and client information.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Deep understanding of trust accounting practices and compliance regulations.
Strong attention to detail, high integrity, and the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to pitch in where needed.
Work Environment:
This is an in-office position. Remote work is not available for this role.
Collaborative team environment in a professional law office setting.
Located in 4580 E Grant Rd, in Tucson with free parking.
Compensation:
Salary range: $22/hr - $26.00/hr (depending on experience and qualifications)
