    The Legal Operations Coordinator is responsible for executing the strategies, priorities, and initiatives established by the Legal Department Administrator for the attorney team and serves as the primary back-up for that position. Exceptional communication is central: the Legal Operations Coordinator acts in a day-to-day management and problem-solving capacity for the attorneys, providing a "first line of defense." At the direction of the Legal Department Administrator, they will craft communications calibrated to individual attorneys and staff. The Legal Operations Coordinator also works with other teams and departments to ensure that the business of practicing law runs smoothly. Responsibilities: • Translate the Legal Department Administrator's priorities into actionable plans with timelines and clear ownership • Serve as primary back-up to the Legal Department Administrator • Document and maintain standard operating procedures across the legal department; serve as the operational point of contact for attorneys; recommend process improvements • Act as a two-way channel between attorneys and the Legal Department Administrator • Facilitate regular operating cadences with attorneys (weekly workflows, case load reviews, intake handoffs, team check-ins) to surface challenges and identify opportunities • Regularly review attorney work for adherence to required processes and procedures, and monitor case progression, case weights, and attorney capacity in coordination with the Director of Finance and the client intake team • Participate in the client care team, escalating cases to the Legal Department Administrator when appropriate • Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the Legal Department Administrator Qualifications: **Required Education & Experience ** • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum five (5) years of progressive management or team lead experience in a team-intensive, service-oriented environment. Professional services experience (law firm, accounting, healthcare) is ideal; hospitality/food service, retail operations, or comparable high-volume industries will be strongly considered • Minimum two (2) years leading cross-functional teams, with demonstrated success coordinating work across disciplines or departments • Experience in project management and successful implementation of strategic and tactical initiatives Preferred Qualifications • MBA in Management, Administration, Business, or a similar field • Prior experience in criminal defense, DUI defense, or litigation-focused practice is ideal • Experience implementing process improvements, automation, or AI tools in a legal or professional services setting • Formal project management or process improvement training (PMP, Six Sigma, or similar) **Required Skills & Abilities ** • Exceptional written and oral communication, including the ability to adapt tone, framing, and delivery for diverse audiences and personalities • Sound judgment and the discretion to know when to act independently and when to escalate • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage competing priorities without loss of accuracy • Results-oriented disposition with a demonstrated capacity for self-direction and initiative • Intermediate to advanced command of Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn new systems quickly; working proficiency with case or matter management software is a plus • Proven discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information Compensation: $28 - $32 per hour
