    Job Description

    Foster Garvey PC, one of the Pacific Northwest's leading law firms, is looking for a Legal Practice Assistant with strong litigation experience to work in our Seattle location.

    The successful candidate will be a team player, organized and detail-oriented. Strong client service and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to make well-reasoned, effective decisions and manage time efficiently will be crucial to your success, and you must be comfortable

    working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare pleadings, correspondence, exhibits and other materials for litigation filings
    • Schedule depositions and manage logistics with deponents and court reporters
    • Monitor attorney calendars, docketing, and coordinate travel arrangements
    • Assist attorneys with preparations for court hearings and trial
    • Proofread for content and accuracy of information
    • Assist attorneys with time entry and coordination of client billing statements
    • Open new client matters and follow up on conflicts
    • Act as liaison between attorneys, internal departments, clients, courts, and opposing counsel
    • Observe attorney-client confidentiality

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 3 years of litigation experience with both state and federal courts, and a strong working knowledge of court rules and procedures is required
    • Thorough knowledge and familiarity with common litigation procedures, terms, and protocols
    • Flexible and able to adapt to different work styles, take initiative and be able to anticipate attorney and client needs
    • Demonstrate professional demeanor and communicate clearly and effectively
    • Computer savvy – must be proficient in MS Office, document management systems, and e-filing services ****

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in legal or professional services organization, or high school diploma and 5-7 years of experience in legal or professional services organization, or equivalent experience.
    • Legal secretary or paralegal certificate is preferred.

    Salary Range

    The pay range for this position is $70,000-$90,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's education, training, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
