Our national law firm client is seeking an experienced Legal Research Manager to help lead its Research Services function. This role is ideal for candidates currently working as Research Managers, Research Specialists, Knowledge Services professionals, or Law Librarians within a law firm environment. The position collaborates closely with firm leadership and attorneys across practice groups to deliver high-level legal and business research while supporting the continued growth and effectiveness of the firm’s research services.
Multiple locations: Atlanta, Birmingham, Dallas, Houston, or Nashville
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate complex legal and business research requests for attorneys and firm leadership
Oversee daily research workflows and help prioritize projects across the research team
Mentor and support research professionals, fostering a collaborative and service-focused team environment
Evaluate and recommend legal research platforms, databases, and emerging research technologies
Develop and deliver training programs to help attorneys and staff maximize research tools and resources
Partner with practice groups and administrative leadership to improve research processes and efficiency
Contribute to strategic initiatives related to knowledge management, research services, and information resources
Qualifications:
JD or MLIS required
Several years of legal research experience within a law firm environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex research matters
Experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating the work of research professionals
Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and service orientation
