The Firm seeks a highly organized and dependable paralegal with experience with real estate, estate planning, probate and trust administration. The firm represents a land title insurance and settlement agency, and the paralegal position will require document preparation for real estate closings and communication with the various closing offices.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, an effective communicator and can efficiently manage the multiple areas of the law in which the firm practices. The paralegal is not authorized to engage in the practice of law and performs all duties under attorney supervision in compliance with Rules of Professional Conduct.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain strict confidentiality of clients and title agency customers and firm and title agency information.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws.
- Perform notary public and RON services upon becoming licensed.
- Work independently and collaboratively within the firm and title agency.
- Cooperate, work and communicate effectively and professionally with clients, customers and co-workers by telephone and email as well as in-person.
- Provide exceptional service to both clients/customers and co-workers.
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks in the various areas of the firm’s practice, completing them under applicable deadlines.
- Effectively work in a fast-paced environment and shift attention from one area of work to another quickly and effectively.
- Be adaptable to fluctuating markets, customer & client needs as well as adapting to continually progressing technology and procedural changes.
- Strong grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and language skills are necessary as well as understanding applicable legal terminology.
- Assist with office operations and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- 1 – 2 years working or interning in a law firm preferred
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability
- Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word, Excel
- Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines
- Willingness to assist with both legal and administrative tasks as needed
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive pay commensurate with experience. Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 7 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave.
