We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and takes pride in keeping complex cases moving forward with precision and care. This role supports attorneys handling high-stakes education law and civil litigation matters and is available in-person, hybrid, or fully remote. This is more than a support position. Responsibilities: What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) • Manage deadlines to ensure all case-related tasks and court filings are completed promptly. • Maintain and coordinate attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, meetings, and case reviews. • You will be responsible for organizing and maintaining accurate filing systems for both electronic and hard-copy documents. • Schedule depositions, client meetings, and attorney prep sessions with efficiency and attention to detail. • You will complete and manage discovery forms to support the litigation process. • Finalize pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy and readiness for filing or delivery. • Research and assist in the implementation of software programs that enhance firm operations. • Track and update case status information using Excel and other tools to ensure clear case oversight. • You will coordinate and manage staff meetings focused on case reviews and team alignment. Qualifications: What We’re Looking For (Qualifications) • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary in a civil litigation firm (Federal and California court experience preferred). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management systems. • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic legal environment. • A proactive mindset and commitment to our mission and values. • Passion for justice, teamwork, and serving clients with empathy and excellence.
