We’re seeking a sharp and highly organized Legal Assistant to support our civil litigation team of attorneys and paralegals. In this role, you’ll prepare a variety of legal documents, manage correspondence, assist with scheduling, maintain a calendar of important deadlines, and help ensure client matters stay organized and on track. Our preference is for this position to be based out of our Lafayette office; however, we are open to a hybrid or fully remote arrangement for the right candidate, depending on experience, reliability, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities: • Calendaring court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and discovery deadlines • Preparing, formatting, proofreading, and filing legal documents • E-filing documents in state and federal courts • Drafting and revising pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and subpoenas • Managing attorney calendars and scheduling meetings, depositions, and court appearances • Coordinating service of process and court filings • Maintaining physical and electronic case files • Monitoring litigation deadlines and ensuring compliance with court rules • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors • Assisting with discovery organization and document production • Preparing hearing binders, exhibits, and trial materials • Processing incoming mail, court notices, and correspondence • Managing case-related emails and maintaining matter organization • Supporting attorneys and paralegals with administrative and case management tasks Qualifications: • California Civil Litigation experience (at least ten years ) • Computer literacy and familiarity/fluency with Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook; must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment; • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times • Friendly attitude and great phone etiquette; • Well organized and reliable; • Strong oral communication skills; and • Attention to detail Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 Depending on Experience
