Legal Assistant - FT
We are currently accepting resumes for an experienced Legal Secretary in Baton Rouge to support our legal team. As a Legal Secretary, you will provide our legal team with administrative support.
Job responsibilities:
- Initial file setup into case management software.
- Mail management of all incoming/outgoing mail, email or fax.
- Calendar management for attorneys regarding deadlines, client meetings and all other scheduled events as well as confirming addresses for meetings.
- Scanning of documents to the appropriate party and/or client file.
- Close out of electronic files in a timely manner.
- Drafting of basic legal correspondence.
Applicants must be:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Customer service focused, detail-oriented and proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
- Excellent with time management and organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast paced, structured and changing environment
- Able to work with a high sense of urgency
- Professional and courteous with strong interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of and ability to apply office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and PDF
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively in a business environment
- Flexible, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities from multiple sources.
- Excellent typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading, and general clerical skills.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
