    Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegal assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, efiling, coordinating with courts, mediators, opposing counsels, through phone calls and emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: • Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested • Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines • Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals • Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department Qualifications: • Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position • Proficient with MS Office products • Applicants must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times • At least 6 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks • Independent thinker and problem solver • Must have proficient knowledge in e-filing • Must understanding of Texas litigation process from pre-litigation through post trial. Compensation: $50,500 - $61,500 yearly
