    Job Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Services Specialist to provide paraprofessional support within the County Attorney’s Office. This role is responsible for assisting with legal documentation, records management, research, and public records coordination while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.

    The Legal Services Specialist will support legal operations by preparing reports and memoranda, maintaining case files, researching statutes and policies, and managing the County’s records program. This position requires strong organizational skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Experience Requirements

    • Experience in legal support, records management, or a related administrative/legal environment (1–2 years preferred)
    • Experience preparing legal documents, reports, and correspondence
    • Experience maintaining case files, records, and documentation with a high level of accuracy
    • Experience researching statutes, ordinances, policies, and procedures
    • Experience responding to public inquiries and requests in a professional manner
    • Experience managing or supporting records retention and records management programs
    • Experience processing or coordinating public records requests
    • Strong computer skills, including document management systems and Microsoft Office
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Experience Preferences

    • Experience working in a government or County Attorney’s Office environment
    • Familiarity with public records laws and records retention schedules
    • Experience coordinating with state agencies or regulatory bodies
    • Experience developing or delivering staff training
    • Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation or ability to obtain within two (2) years

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
    • Ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and reaching
    • Ability to work in an office environment

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field

    Education Preferences

    • Degree in Legal Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
